What Does It Mean to Feel Truly Alive?

What’s a moment in your life that made you feel truly alive?

What is a moment in your life that made you feel truly alive?

For me, feeling alive is not always about doing something exciting or going somewhere new. Sometimes, I feel most alive when I take care of my mind and body.

Taking Time for Myself

Life can feel busy and overwhelming. As a parent, I often have many things to think about and many people who need me.

Taking time to care for myself helps me feel more settled. I may begin with Tai Chi Qigong, followed by Hatsurei meditation and Transcendental Meditation.

Each one gives me a different kind of quiet time.

Tai Chi Qigong allows me to move my body slowly and pay attention to my breathing. Hatsurei helps me feel calm and spiritually connected. Meditation gives my mind time to slow down.

Feeling Ready to Face Life

After I finish, my problems have not suddenly disappeared. However, I often feel calmer and better able to face them.

I feel more confident about dealing with the challenges in front of me. Instead of feeling as though everything is happening at once, I can pause, breathe and take one step at a time.

That is what caring for my mental health and body means to me. It is not about trying to be perfect. It is about giving myself the time and care I also give to other people.

What Does Feeling Alive Mean to Me?

Feeling truly alive means being at peace inside my own head.

It means being present rather than feeling controlled by fear, stress or everything I need to do.

It means noticing my breathing, feeling my feet on the ground and remembering that I am here. I am still learning, growing and moving forward.

Some days are easier than others. I do not always feel calm, and I do not expect myself to. However, these simple habits help me return to myself.

That peaceful feeling may not last all day, but it reminds me that calm is still possible.

You may sit comfortably or lie down. If you do not want to make the movements, you can simply imagine yourself doing them.

For me, feeling alive means caring for myself, finding peace within my mind and knowing that I can face life one moment at a time.

Heal Yourself.

So it is.
